Web High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only player to achieve last game in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest enthusiasts around the world. While gambling on internet poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He frequently competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits for a good hand and then goes all-in. I believe Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has little or no reason to play at the game with the min buy-in.
Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is assumed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I believe tv can skew our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players in the world could be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in high stakes omaha/8 and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in cash rounds?
