No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer lived in a family of 5 where he enjoyed taking part in various card games at a young age. He found himself becoming very aggressive in these particular card games while competing against his father. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard decided to put college on hold for a little while and headed to New York City to play some formidable chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game taking place in the back of the room. Howard’s first two years were rough as he played extensive hours and lose most times. He earned some extra money by being an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He believed he possibly could improve his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He made an attempt to acquire more rest and focus more on poker.

The actual advancement in his skills happened when he began playing at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the greatest players would regularly play against one another. He had access into a few of the best players in chess. With their help, he would hone his cunning thinking techniques. He used these strategic ideas in the game of NL Texas Holdem.

Howard Lederer also assisted his sister Annie Duke learn the game of poker. She was a great student of the game as she would consistently be asking questions about how to make the proper decision. Howard told Annie to move out to Sin City and compete in the World Series of Poker competition. She is one of the strongest women players the poker arena has ever seen. Howard headed to Vegas in 1993 and played cash games for the next decade. When the World Poker Tournament grew in popularity, he made the decision to play more tournaments.
