4 of Poker’s Charming Players

Literally millions and millions of players want to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short rundown on 4 of the more well known "nice guys" of poker. Despite the fact that "nice" is connected with their names when you are playing them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" up until they have removed you out of the competition!

Daniel Negreanu

In 2004, his tourney earnings added up to more than $4.4 million and he won two immensely admired awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tourney Player of the Year. In February 2006 he was named Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. He even still has the humility to speak to his admirers about how they might improve their own game.

Howard Lederer

Called "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker pro Annie Duke. His success has lead to him making an instructional video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also hosting a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of Two Thousand and Five, his complete life time winnings surpass 2.7 million dollars.

Scotty Nguyen

Scotty is 1 of the most active players in professional poker and from Two Thousand to 2004 he ranked in the money in well over one hundred tournaments. He’s noted for saying "yeah baby" during poker games and also coined the term "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a particularly bad loss. As of 2006, his career winnings are just about 6 million dollars.

Chris Ferguson

Chris has earned 5 World Series of Poker titles with two of his successes happening in Two Thousand and Three. Chris has the nickname "Jesus" due to his trademark long hair and beard, and is able to toss playing cards fast enough to slice through pickles and bananas. As of Two Thousand and Five his total live poker tournament earnings exceeded five million dollars.
