Annie Duke mightn’t have earned her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until two thousand and four but she remains one of the most feared poker competitors around the live action games at The Bellagio in sin city. Annie’s long-overdue World Series of Poker bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha hi-low.
While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run wild following a large win at the tables, Annie heads home and becomes "mom" to her four children. However, Annie Duke is no small change girl and has captured her cut of hard tables, including eliminating Howard a few times along the way. They are both players that have the skill to win the big money and do so with a grin.
Annie is a tough competitor at any table due to the fact that she is a legitimate poker player, but it is a little more than simply being strong at the game. Mrs. Duke is surprisingly smart and graduated from Columbia U where she took a double major in English and Psychology.
When you take a seat across from Annie at the table you’ll see Annie is there to compete in the game and she starts "summing" you up as soon as you approach the poker table. If you can not compete like a camp, then don’t waste your time.
Winning over $3 million in tournament competitions, Mrs. Duke branched out to become a consultant to both the UltimateBet website and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to sharpen his techniques and develop into a force at the poker table.
You might just catch a glimpse of her at the Bellagio, you will see Annie on TV and you might even participate against her in a web poker match, but don’t anticipate a simple win. Except of course you’re a champion-in-the-making, you won’t beat her. Although, it would be fun to mention you played at the at the table with "The Duke".
