When will You Going to Learn that Hold em Poker is All About Position!

I have been betting poker now for about 5 years, I have bet cards my entire life starting with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various forms of Brag and basic random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so beautifully called, card on head game. I used to usually win, whatever game we were wagering and even though I liked to call it skill, it was incredibly difficult to justify considering the randomness of the games we were betting, so I was over joyed to accept I was having an extended run of good fortune.

Then came Poker, or additional importantly Hold em Poker, made famous by a group of Texas card gamblers in the sixties and since developed into one of the largest card phenomena ever witnessed. Poker is totally the new black, it truly is super awesome with several of the world’s top celebs racing to have their name associated with it. Just a quick scan through the TV channels these days and it is possible to not escape from poker, and needless to say there’s the fabled World Series of Poker, the Holy Grail and Mecca all combined into one for every individual player.

So with all of this new found popularity, with so numerous Tv shows dedicated to poker, and magazine and book shelves loaded up with high quality material written by the top minds on poker, when are persons going to learn that this casino game is all about position!?

Perhaps I really should not have so worked up about this, after all the far more people who have difficulty with the delicate techniques and strategies required for winning regularly at Holdem, the better it really is for everyone else, proper? I mean, if they can’t be bothered to look at all of the available information about why location is so critical, why need to we bother? We should just be glad there’s another fish at the table!

It is true, we should not reward inactivity with guidance and support. On the other hand, I liken this to a friendly game of football. Granted the stakes are not so good, but when you see a player struggling, you support them, provide them several advice, ultimately showing them a way to love, love and be grateful for the game as much as you. I’m asking all house players to do a similar thing with their poker buddies who haven’t quite got a handle on the subtleties of betting position. Support them to grow their respect for the game. Certainly, don’t attempt to try this one in your community betting house, the sharks won’t appreciate you instructing their supper how to swim!
